My background is in physics, materials science, and manufacturing, and I have professional experience in engineering education, woodworking, astronomy, high temperature ceramics and electrochemistry, sensor design, electro-mechanical design, automation, and device prototyping.
From early work processing solar images of coronal mass ejections to a post-doctoral fellowship designing electromechanical sensors for nuclear waste recycling and more recently designing mechanical engineering class demonstrations, I have been solving technical problems for over 20 years.
Lately, I’ve been exploring the integration of computer-aided design, inexpensive internet-of-things technologies and augmented reality for use in engineering education and electro-mechanical product development.
